The time has come for a new sub-title for this blog. As Sheena has pointed out, I am no longer "under-employed". In fact, by Gabriola standards I might be considered over-employed, having one of the few full-time, permanent, professional jobs on the Island. In any case, I am employed, more a "planner" than "geographer" (although I think once a geographer always a geographer), but still a kayak guide.
If you have any ideas for a new tag-line, let me know. I'm quite attached to the old one, but have realized that I have to come to grips with a new identity. I can't define myself by being a perpetual student, who only ever has short-term or seasonal work. How strange.
Here are a few shots of Gabriola to add interest to the post:

Sadly, no tag line suggestions at this time.
However, I did want to say: welcome to the job-stability phase of adulthood!
Crazy place to suddenly end up, eh? And yet that's (theoretically) what we work toward! Now just wait until you buy a home - that's an "Oh my gosh - how much more adult can you get!?!" shock! :)
Love the telephone photo!
